2006 Martin Freeman interview
- What's your mobile phone?
- MF: It's a very unfancy two-year-old Nokia. Someone laughed at it the other day.
- What is your signature scent?
- MF: My other half bought me some Jo Malone cologne. It's unisex so it'd suit any man, woman or plant.
- What brand of underwear do you favour?
- MF: Nowadays I opt for good old Marks & Spencer underwear. They're nicely made and a pleasure to wear.
- What sheets are on your bed?
- MF: They're white cotton from Habitat or Marks & Spencer.
- What car do you drive?
- MF: It's a Mercedes A-Class.
- Favourite Champagne?
- MF: I'm not a big fan of Champagne. I've been suckered by the Magners cider adverts so I'm drinking lots of that.
- Brand of coffee?
- MF: I very rarely make coffee at home as it makes me wired and anxious. I do drink a lot of tea though.
- Which magazine is always on your coffee table?
- MF: I get Mojo or The Word.
- Stereo or iPod?
- MF: I have an iPod but I prefer to listen to music on my record player at home.
- Cubic zirconium or diamonds?
- MF: My favourite pieces of jewellery are my silver ID bracelet and Paul Smith watch - both presents from me to me.
- Superdrug or Este Lauder?
- MF: I buy my other half a pot of Crème de la Mer every couple of months and we share it.
- What is your favourite piece of furniture?
- MF: We've got two great 1960s armchairs.
- Favourite bag?
- MF: I have a checked canvas Daks holdall with leather straps.
- What is your oldest possession?
- MF: It's a yellow slightly squashed teddy called Pongo.
- Most dog-eared book?
- MF: George Orwell's Animal Farm had a huge impact on me when I was 11 years old and I go back to it every few years.
- What item do you wish you had never bought?
- MF: Athlete's first album. I liked one song, bought the album and then discovered that all the other songs sounded the same.
- Favourite nick-nack?
- MF: I have two lead figures of Laurel and Hardy from the 1940s.
- What is your favourite labour-saving device?
- MF: My washing machine, imagine if I had to go and wash my clothes in the Thames?
